As part of the IDEATE club, I collaborated with my fellow members to design the UI/UX for our college's student council website. Our goal was to craft a fresh and engaging platform that embodies the spirit of our student community. Theme: Our design theme centered around creating a warm, homely vibe to foster a sense of community. We achieved this through a carefully selected color palette and thoughtful design elements. Color Palette: Primary Colors: Olive Green (#A7C643): Represents growth, positivity, and inclusivity, perfectly aligning with the values of a student council. Vanilla (#FFECC1): Adds a welcoming and homely feel, enhancing the sense of community. Accent Colors: Powder Blue (#79E0E6),Selective Yellow (#F6A342),Cotton Candy Pink (#FF61C0) These accent colors were used to highlight important elements, adding a playful and dynamic touch to the overall design. Typography: We selected "Source Sans Pro" as our main font due to its clean and modern aesthetic. By utilizing different weights of the font, we established a clear hierarchy, making navigation intuitive and information easy to digest. Design Elements: Incorporating scribbled elements introduced a raw and organic feel to the design. This technique adds a touch of creativity and reflects the authenticity and uniqueness of the student council. It's reminiscent of the creative doodles students might make during a brainstorming session – relatable and genuine. Overall Design: Our overarching goal was to create an abstract and refreshing design that resonates with the student community. The harmonious blend of our color palette, typography, and playful elements works cohesively to evoke a sense of belonging and energy, ensuring the website is both engaging and user-friendly.
